Happy 2nd Birthday Jack!

Well time flies. Jack had his 2nd birthday on October 1.
This is his cake, I think it turned out really cute. I mean who doesn't love cake smothered in frosting and candy?
Blowing out the candle, it was so fun having Great Grandma Burrows with us to celebrate. Jack thinks her oxygen hose is pretty neat.Mandi, Aunt Char, Grisham, and Vi came too! That was so nice.
Opening presents....
I love this one. Its a truck.... can you tell by all the little boys huddled together. It was a great birthday and a bunch of fun to have family and friends over. Hope they don't mind we always party in the garage.....

Summer #3....

I get too lazy to post everything in one post... so here we go again, come join us on the Dinosaur Train....This is something akin to a superman cape I'm sure..... sometimes a guy just gets too busy to put his pants on.Is this a safety hazard?Jack loves to wear my apron to do some light baking and cleaning. Gram has since found his own camoflage apron that is just his size... now dad can't be mad about him wearing a pink flowery apron....
I've been doing my DI christmas shopping all year. This is my awesome find for Jack for his main christmas, a $3 trike. I took some steel wool to it and painted it john deere green and yellow and replaced the wooden blocks with real pedals that were $2, so all in all with everything the bike will be about $10 and so original and sooo cute. I think he will love it. Pictures will come after santa delivers :).Jack spent many many hours playing with kitty like this. He would move all important things to the glass door and play for hours.
And here is a fun new game which varies from horse to trainy choo choo. I really don't know how he doesn't get more rug burns.
All summer long Jack was putting on his shoes, even in his jammies. He just wants to go outside so bad.
It is always a little scary the braver they get. I don't really think that table is the most stable thing in the world. He kept doing cat calls to kitty kitty with that paper towel roll. Silly boy.
I decided to take up sewing as well. I really enjoy it, although Sina and Kara will both tell you I was pretty much a nervous wreck when I started. That needle can be intimidating. Here is one of the first receiving blankets. More project pictures to come.
Here is our sweat shop. What is wrong with the picture?? (notice naughty kitty scaling the screen door).

The end of september we took down the crib and put up the toddler bed. It is so darling but it makes my heart break to think how big our little guy is getting. He LOVES his bed. Super fun to jump on. He did really well getting used to it, and he stays in bed really well now. At first it was soo tempting to play with toys are to get out of bed. He always loves to flip the wrong way and sleep with his head at the foot of his bed.... we will have to figure that out soon.

Summer 2010 Continued..

I guess I really think that pictures are the best way to tell you how summer went. Im sure lots happened that I didnt digitally record but oh well.....
This pic reminds me a lot of Dan. (And I don't think its because dan wears little red check overall shorts....)
Even though he is ALL boy, mom's hairthings are still pretty neat.
Who said talking on the phone while driving is illegal? I HAVE to talk to my gram!

This is Jack talking on the phone to gram.

My little cleaner. He loves to vacume, dust, clean the glass, sweep... just about anything. And I love how he loves to pick up toys. Makes for a very happy mommy.

We spent some summertime in Utah. It was so fun to have all the cousins around. This is my sweet niece Oaklee... It was hilarious to hear here giggle and giggle and giggle.
Kiddie pools are fun, but boy they can be chilly! Just ask Oaklee.
I love this pic of Patty and Oaklee.
And I love this one of Stacy and sweet new baby Avery. They both look great in blue.
On our way home from Utah Jack got pretty restless. So we stopped for a picnic at a park in Pocatello.
This is our fun trick that we learned. I say "put your hand behind your head! you are under arrest!"Then Jack gets tazer tickled. Good time.
I made a furry cotton candy cake......
Next time I think i'll stick to what I know.....This is one of my favorite outfits. Super cute. What a handsome little man.

Friends

Jack has a good friend Korban a neighbor boy that he LOVES to play with. One day Korban and Jack were so matchy matchy is was adorable.

Summer 2010

slacker... yes. I know. here are some happenings from this summer.
Many outings to Iona park. So much fun to swing and run and play.
And of course lots and lots of playing ball. I can't believe how much he has changed from when these were taken.
Of course it wouldn't be summer without plenty of time on the tractors... I can't tell you how many hours were spent playing on the tractors. You can barely pull Jack off of them.
Jack loves spending time with grandpa.

Grandpa is great even when he tries to suck up our fingers...
Jack loves driving these little cars around. Who knew it would be easier to go backwards. He would live at grandma and grandpas if I let him...

This is my birthday birdbath. I had to bury the base in the ground to the wind wouldn't knock it over (the first one broke). Turns out bird baths and 1 year olds don't go together. It was more like a jack bath.
Mmmmm pickles. So sad. He hasn't been in a highchair for awhile. What a cute little boy! Who doesn't love smiles like that?

Sprinklers are so much fun. Jack loved it when dad adjusted our yard sprinklers. Poor kid could be blue with cold and not give a care.Fun with cousins!Jack loves to watch the "show" like this on the changing table pad... super comfy.
And really what could be any better than spending time outside with daddy and kitty kitty eating cherries... It really can't get any better than that!

Move it... Move it!

I am always in awe at those around me that somehow always find the time to workout... How do they do it? And I am always in awe at the "doers" who are always doing and never appear to need a moment of down time.....

Jenn and Torrie... wow. tell me. how do you find time to workout, how do you do it?

I sped walked 2 miles today.... how do I do it again on monday and the day after that and the day after that?

Those of you who workout regularly can you tell me how you do it, what works best for you?

No Kitty!

We got a kitten this summer, a little orange tabby we named O'lantern. He was a fun kitty who was chuck full of spunk. Unfortunatly some neighbor kids thought he was a "stray" because he played in the weeds around our lot...... anyways Jack was very sad about the loss of your kitty and was constantly looking outside the glass doors to see if kitty was there. sad. Anyhow we frequented the shelter to see if he was there... no luck. So we decided to adopt anothe cat. I took jack to the shelter again in hopes of finding a good replacement.. There were lots of cats and they were pretty good, but when I took out a small orange tabby kitten that looked like our old one Jack was in love all over again, and jumping for joy and say "kittykittykittykitty" and doing that funny hand thing he does when he really wants something. Jack loves his kitty and he loves to play and chase her around with his plastic golf clubs. But what he loves very best about kitty is that he gets to boss her around with no consequences.... so if kitty sniffs his tractor she gets a firm "no keee no!" Its great now that mom isnt hoggin all the bossin. So fast forward to today. This is the conversation we kept having today:

"Jack do you want a fruit snack?"

"No KKeeee No"

"Jack do you want to go night night?"
"No KEEEEE No"

As I go to see what he is doing in the pantry arount the corner, he stands up and pushes me back to the living room saying "no keee no!"

Apparently Mom has suddenly become KittyKitty.

Family Pix

A few weekends ago we went to get the Martin family pictures done. The photographer Marcie Jessee posted some sneak peaks on her blog at http://www.jesseephotography.com/ here is Jack's portrait pic. she asked if i wanted to try a different one but I really like the GQ look of this:Here is the grandkid pic, i really love this one. When we were setting up for it we originally going to have my dad hold baby Avery and mom hold Jack and Oaklee...... then my dad gets suddenly panicked at the thought of holding a little tiny baby and hastily volunteers to hold oaklee. Dont you think it would be easier to hold the sleeping infant?? Funny dad.

Hopefully the our little family pic will turn out.....

so close to the TERRIBLE two's

Yesterday was a day.... boy was it a DAY. Jack has apparently cooped up all his micheviousness for one day..... YESTERDAY. Here are all of our tales from the crib:

1. Jack unplugged the computer and decided I would love it if he scratched up the walls with the metal prongs.

2. Jack had a mouthful of cheezits and spat it out and smeared it all over glass doors.

3. Jack was napping and woke up too soon so I let him cry. Then he started to SCREAM. So I went in to tell him to go night night. I walk in.... He has no pants on..... he has no diaper on... everything is saturated in urine.... he is crying ma ma ma..... and he is trying to hand me his little deer poops..... nap time is over i guess.... time for a tubby.

4. Jack has a purple crayon and draws all over the walls and glass doors......

Thank the high heavens there is no #5, or he might be living with aunt kara or aunt sina. I was sooooo incredibly grateful to get to go to enrichment that night and have some alone time.
