MMMMMM Nummies

HMMMM What am I going to do with you silly waabitt?
How about some waaabbitt stew..You know what goes well with waabiit stew? Bear Bisque.

I hid Jack's christmas in my closet. Apparently not tricky enough... and here he is raiding the christmas stash 2 months early.
Still loving the piano.
And still loving Daddy. Hi Daddy!

Our friend Tebbin came over for a couple days. They had a lot of fun together. I love how tebbin speaks and responds to questions....

Fall 2010

So close to being up to date. Here are Jack and Kittykitty. Every morning when daddy goes to work Jack gets pretty upset unless we let kitty run inside. Then Jack and mommy go on a cat hunt and take kitty back to the garage, and by that time daddy leaving is forgotten. He adores his kitty, she is so nice to him considering what he does to her: pulling her tails, pinching her, accidentally strangling her, chasing her with a plastic golf club, making her sit in the sled.

Here is Helpful Harry. What kid doesn't love doing dishes?

Jack got a r/c train for his birthday. He loves it. It is pretty awesome how well it stays together. He plays with it for hours and hours.
So as I said before I did some supervised sewing. I made this valance for Jack's bigger boy room. I think it turned out pretty cute.Sina and I made this quilt for his toddler bed. I love it. I couldn't be any happier with it.
Cute, right? I also sewed the double layer fleece blanket and the fleece pillow case, because Jack loves fleece and the ties on one end.
I also fashioned this lightswitch cover with my excess material, buttons, and a little modge podge.

We have been singing many songs. This video doesn't do it justice, it seems kids forget what they are doing when the camera is on. Jack loves to sing Book of Mormon stories, Once I was a baby (to the sound of once there was a snowman), and Jesus Bean (also known as Jesus wants me for a sunbeam), and popcorn popping.

Great Pumpkin Continues.....

Ok and the final chapter to the 2010 Great Pumpkin Extravaganza....
All the women and children got to halloween jammies. Boy they are comfy. Nothing like a good pair of jammies.

Kambree and Avery.
Auntie Sina and Jack.
Tressie and Tiana. Tressie is my cousin and I love her very much.
Carol, John, Auntie Sina, Kambree all snuggled together. Then we had to celebrate an abundance of birthdays. This is Carol's halloween cake. Yikes, I know. Thats a lot of refined sugar.
Dallas and his cheesecake, Carol 8 and her halloween sugar high, and Jack 2 and his pumpkin pie.

Carol was so thorough blowing out the candles that Jack got another try... I can't help but think he might be spoiled rotten......

Then on to opening birthday presents.... Im telling you this pumpkin party has so many different party aspects, its like the ultimate party.

Why do we even spend money on gifts? They would really be happy with a box, the paper and the ribbons... truly. Here is the action as it happens. Playing catch with gram. Thanks Gram and Papa for the very fun party and weekend. And you know its not really about the presents, the food, the costumes, the pumpkins... What makes it special is just spending good old quality time with eachother, I love being with my family and playing outside and just sitting around chatting. Those are really the best of times. I'm so blessed with a wonderful family, and I am so blessed with wonderful inlaws. I could not have it any better!

Not featured in the blog: somehow I failed to get pictures of the kids in the sandbox in their jammies. Also new this year we tried (and sort of failed a little) at making orange cotton candy. It was fun and Jack LOVED it, he must get that from his mom.

The Epic Great Pumpkin Party

\This is usually my longest post of the year. And usually one of the most fun packed parties of the year. So lets begin...
We had the kids dress up this year for a lot of the party. It was so much fun. Isn't this little guy the cutest LUMBER JACK you ever saw? I got the whole outfit jimmy rigged at the DI for less than $5 minus his jeans which he wears all the time anyways. SOOO cute. Dan loved it and approved because its a manly costume and doesn't make him look femmy or lame.
Jack would follow gram to the end of the earth. It was such wonderful weather for the party. The kids played and played outside and they were seriously covered in sand and dirt. But they had a BLAST.
Here are Gram and Papa with the kiddos (minus oaklee who couldnt make it this year). We have a Lumber Jack, John the Hunter, Carol Princess Aurora, Avery Hawiian Girl, and Kambree Hawiian Girl #2. So cute. The pumpkin patch looked great this year. I wonder how my mom miraculously grows amazing pumpkins every year. (ok she at least can grow awesome vines :) love you mom!)
Kambree and Papa picking out her pumpkin. She sure does love Papa.
Gram and Jack picking out the Ghost Pumpkin.
The RJ and Stacy Martin Family.

The mighty hunter and his pumpkins!
I just think this pic is adorable. What would it be to be 2 again?
And the sweet princess on her pumpkin.
Here are Jack and Kambree checking out the inner workings of the hot walker... but a couple on engineers out on the town....
This is part of our feast! It was so delicious!
This year we went all out on the halloween themed food. For breakfast we had orange pumpkin pancakes, for lunch we made pizzas one was a jackolantern, one had spider olives with a string cheese web, one had a giant olive bat, and i'm not remembering what the last one was. but they were goooo ooood! And for dinner Papa made steaks on the fire pit for the "men" and the rest had pumpkin cheeseburgers. We even had cinnamon sugar bat chips and bat tortilla chips (homemade) it was all very cute, and very delicious. I wish I would have taken more pix of it. It was also conference weekend, and it sure was nice to fit a little conference in here and there throughout the weekend.
Jack and Kambree found Pokey the Pony and they pushed and pulled all over the lawn. Then we had to trick or treat the front door. I love how Jack is layed back and ready to pass out from a fun filled day.

Happy 2nd Birthday Jack!

Well time flies. Jack had his 2nd birthday on October 1.
This is his cake, I think it turned out really cute. I mean who doesn't love cake smothered in frosting and candy?
Blowing out the candle, it was so fun having Great Grandma Burrows with us to celebrate. Jack thinks her oxygen hose is pretty neat.Mandi, Aunt Char, Grisham, and Vi came too! That was so nice.
Opening presents....
I love this one. Its a truck.... can you tell by all the little boys huddled together. It was a great birthday and a bunch of fun to have family and friends over. Hope they don't mind we always party in the garage.....

Summer #3....

I get too lazy to post everything in one post... so here we go again, come join us on the Dinosaur Train....This is something akin to a superman cape I'm sure..... sometimes a guy just gets too busy to put his pants on.Is this a safety hazard?Jack loves to wear my apron to do some light baking and cleaning. Gram has since found his own camoflage apron that is just his size... now dad can't be mad about him wearing a pink flowery apron....
I've been doing my DI christmas shopping all year. This is my awesome find for Jack for his main christmas, a $3 trike. I took some steel wool to it and painted it john deere green and yellow and replaced the wooden blocks with real pedals that were $2, so all in all with everything the bike will be about $10 and so original and sooo cute. I think he will love it. Pictures will come after santa delivers :).Jack spent many many hours playing with kitty like this. He would move all important things to the glass door and play for hours.
And here is a fun new game which varies from horse to trainy choo choo. I really don't know how he doesn't get more rug burns.
All summer long Jack was putting on his shoes, even in his jammies. He just wants to go outside so bad.
It is always a little scary the braver they get. I don't really think that table is the most stable thing in the world. He kept doing cat calls to kitty kitty with that paper towel roll. Silly boy.
I decided to take up sewing as well. I really enjoy it, although Sina and Kara will both tell you I was pretty much a nervous wreck when I started. That needle can be intimidating. Here is one of the first receiving blankets. More project pictures to come.
Here is our sweat shop. What is wrong with the picture?? (notice naughty kitty scaling the screen door).

The end of september we took down the crib and put up the toddler bed. It is so darling but it makes my heart break to think how big our little guy is getting. He LOVES his bed. Super fun to jump on. He did really well getting used to it, and he stays in bed really well now. At first it was soo tempting to play with toys are to get out of bed. He always loves to flip the wrong way and sleep with his head at the foot of his bed.... we will have to figure that out soon.
