Santa

Dan had his work Christmas party a couple weeks ago. It was pretty fun, a little weird considering he just started work there. Anyways it was a family party so Santa came to visit all the children. Jack didn't seem to mind Santa and Santa seemed to enjoy Jack. We will see how next year goes though..

Idaho News

I have found something I really don't care for in Idaho.... the news channels. Seriously how hokey can they be? The anchors have serious problems with reading and speaking without getting all twisted up. I think I was just spoiled by the quality in Utah. But I really just laugh whenever I watch it. The weathermen have some major issues with their weather predictions, take today for example, it was supposed to be clear no snow..... its been snowing all morning and is totally cloudy.

Attention all Millerpumpkin's readers: Thank you for your continued readership, I have chosen to make my blog private now. If you do not want to post your email you can email me your address at tianadmartin@hotmail.com I figure this is the easiest way. So take a moment to comment. Thanks.

Heaven.....

My sister introduced this to me at thankgiving. What can I say... ITS AMAZING!!!! I love eggnog, but this, this stuff knocks the socks off the regular stuff. Unfortunatly after being home in Idaho I have only been able to find the pumpkin spice, not cinnamon, and let me tell ya the cinnamon is WAY better. Thanks Sina for the good holiday tip. Oh and on another holiday treat note, my niece Carol-anne was selling cookie dough for a school thing, so I thought heck why not I'll support her and buy some and get chocolate chip cause then Dan will just eat them..... BIG MISTAKE! You see they come in a little box and are frozen little balls of joy, pop them in the micro for oh 12 seconds and youve got a deliciously sweet morsel of cookie dough sin. BAD BAD IDEA. I may have to just resort to cooking the entire box of cookie dough just so I stop eating them.

Jack

Today we decided to take some pictures. Jack thought it was a good time.... for about 3 seconds. I love this little outfit I got from Kara. This is the first time he has had shoes on.

Here he is in his dragon jamas. What is special about these is the fact that they are 3-6 month. And I also think they are cute.
Dan was especially fond of this on, because he looks scared. He is wearing his John Deere Camo Cowboy Boots. His pants are a little short though.... its okay to be a dude sometimes right? We are still hunting for that smile, I look like 50 pictures today trying to get it, no luck.I love my little man.

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good boy this year. I sleep (sometimes), I smile (although not on camera), I poop on a regular basis, I try not to pittle on mom (too much). I went to the doctors and got my shots and I screamed for only a minute. I eat plenty, just like mom wants me too... here is my proof:

And I swear I have only been like this minimally (everything in moderation right?):

I have even been taking my part in the promotion of christmas thanks to my Aunt Suzie.
Love,
Jack

Congrats Babe!!!!!

Well I need to do a little bragging on my hubby. Yesterday was his last final.... EVER!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooo excited that this day has finally come, he is officially done with his Masters of Accounting. No more school for him!!!! Could life get any better? He is done traveling to Utah for school which is awesome but Heavenly Father did watch out and protect him because there were NO bad roads between here and Utah and its December for crying out loud. He has worked full time and taken anywhere between 14-18 credits, I call that amazing. I really don't know how he did it and still pulled A's in grad school. He does such an amazing job at being a father and is a HUGE help to me, I am very blessed to have such a wonderful hardworking loving husband. Congrats Babe on such an amazing achievement. I love you. Oh and happy belated blogposted birthday!!! 27!

Look Back in Time

Wow how things change. I love looking at old pictures, makes me laugh, maybe you will have a little giggle yourself.

2 Month Checkup

Today I took Jack to his 2 month well baby checkup. He now weighs 11 pounds 14 ounces, which puts him in the 50th percentile, and is 21.5 inches tall, putting him in the 6th percentile. I couldnt believe it, he really seems tall to me, but apparently he is short and squatty. But he was a little short when he was born. He got his shots, and screamed during but calmed down right after and is currently sleeping and having sweet dreams. He has a little umbilical hernia, his belly button is super outy, but its pretty common and as his abs get stronger it will fix itself. His doctor seems pretty good, although not as good as our old one. oh well. Everything looks good, the doc did say we need to continue to be antisocial due to the coming cold, flu and RSV season, he said avoid places and situations that you cannot control like going to stores and church where there are billions of people and you cant control who is around and knowing who is sick yadda yadda yadda. I will take a picture of Jack soon in his diaper so you can see how rolly polly he is getting and see his very outy belly button. He is starting to smile a lot so i will try to capture that as well, but that will be a bit more tricky.

The Grandkids

All the grandkids on the martin side. This is the best picture we could get, little miss Kambree wasn't to interested in taking pictures.

Family Picture

At thanksgiving we took some family pictures. Here we are The Dan Miller Family. Jack was so good for all the pictures his eyes were wide open and was being a good boy.
Here is the Martin clan, I think it turned out pretty good.

Carol was so excited to finally meet Jack. She is a very good cousin. The first day we were there Carol followed Jack and I around like a little puppy. She had two small teddy bears and she took one of my burp wrags and used it as a recieving blanket, she would swaddle them like I swaddled Jack, and she would feed them with a bottle, and burp them. Then I needed to bathe Jack so I thought she would be interested in helping, she LOVED it. She was a good mini mommy.Jack and John had a good time as well, but I think John will have to wait a little bit longer to get to play. I couldnt believe how much my niece and nephews changed. Carol looks like she has grown up so much and lost a lot of that baby fat on her cheeks. We stopped on our way home to see Josh and Suzie, I can't believe how much Sam changed. It is simply crazy.

Basement

And finally this is the basement. Currently it holds the prized possesions we don't have space for upstairs or don't know what to do with in general. Note that baby you see on the gun cabinet is not Jack. I would never be that stupid, that baby happens to be the doll the my dear mom used to teach me how to bathe babies with, because I was pretty nervous about the whole ordeal.

And this is our food storage room, I bet you are impressed with our organizational skills, just crack the boxes open and here ya go. Someday we will have shelves, and that day will be nice. The basement has room for a family room, 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, storage room, and furnace room. It will be nice to have this all done in the future.
And this is my long lost pal that I hope to get reacquainted with. Wish me luck.

Master Bedroom

Master Bedroom has some good closet space and is a pretty big room with a door going into the bathroom.

Jack's Room

This kid has more clothes than I do, by far. But I just love looking at all those cute little clothes. So cute.

I could not live without my changing table and diaper genie. Seriously a very good investment.

Bathroom/Laundry

The hallway comes from the family room and kitchen and leads directly to the bathroom and the left side is the nice laundry closet with lots of space and the right are the stairs that lead to the basement. I love that it is a half wall it makes it more open.

Kitchen

Here is the kitchen, I really don't know if you care about seeing all this but oh well. You can skip it if you want. I love the knotty alder cabinets and all the black matching appliances. I am still firguring out how to decorate the rest of the top of the cabinets. The only thing I don't like is the dishwasher is louder than a train. The door you see is out to the garage.

The only autumn/fall decorations I have out. And the pumpkin John picked out for Jack.
The kitchen table and all the decorations I am still deciding where to put. The glass sliding door goes out to the backyard. The backyard has a nice cement pad to put some chairs and the grill on. And here is Dan's christmas. Its a really great grill. The food is delicious. I know it is way before christmas but it was on sale end of season. So worth it.

Family Room

I am still trying to figure out a few decorations in here and the kitchen... this process takes time.

awesome moose house warming gift

front door
This is our cute little home. It seems very nice here in the subdivision. Its nice and quiet and clean. This spring we are hoping to put in the lawn. Idaho is great compared to Utah. There are actual starter homes here. And the lot sizes are great. We are on .39 acre, a pretty good size lawn. Utah has NOTHING like this.

The front of our house.
View from the front of the house. There are some tracks out there and a grainary way out there and they pick up gravel or something out there too.

View to the west of the house, a big field, apparently good for dirt bikes.
View of "backyard" which currently has 3 trees.

Tiny Turkey

My mom called me the other day with this message: Dad wanted me to call you to tell you that Jack needs a turkey.

I was thinking what turkey? And I was informed that Papa needs a Jack hand turkey to put on his fridge until thanksgiving. Ever since my dad became a papa he is wild about little turkeys made by his grandkids. Funny Papa. It was interesting trying to trace Jack's hand. I ended up doing it while he was snoozing in his crib.

Peter Pumpkin Brownies Gone Wrong

The other day I was browsing the Miller combined cookbook and I happened upon this recipe for Peter Pumpkin Brownies and it noted that it was Dan's favorite. So considering the time of year I thought it would be a fun treat and nice for Dan. Well I made it exactly as the recipe shows and let me tell ya, it went terribly wrong. Instead of delicious warm pumpkin brownies we ended up with brown pumpkin goo. Not at all like the brownies I imagined. So we had a nice pan of pumpkin gooey goo, not much of a treat. So here is the recipe, DO NOT make this unless you like goo. I simply think there must be some key ingredient missing, perhaps flour??? Well if any of you Millers know exactly what is missing let me know and I will give it another whirl.

Peter Pumpkin Brownies (DO NOT MAKE, THIS RECIPE HAS BEEN RECALLED)

1 c. melted margarine
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. pumpkin
1 tsp cinnamon

Bake in 9x13 pan at 350 for about 40 minutes

Define Volunteer Please

I got this from Dan's blog, I thought it was so unreal and ridiculous I just couln't resist posting it here as well. Seriously is this guy for real? How confused can a person really be? Let me lay it all out for you Harry Reid......
  1. Voluntary: of your own free will or design; done by choice; not forced or compelled
  2. Force: to cause to do through pressure or necessity, by physical, moral or intellectual means

The Littlest Cowboy

Ok are these boots seriously the cutest things you have ever seen? My mom got these for Jack when he was born, these boots contain 3 elements little boys love:
  1. they are cowboy boots
  2. they have camo up the sides
  3. they are John Deere
Could life be any better?
